Cactus Canyon Pinball Remake the Bally/Williams Old West classic, rebuilt with a full-color display and Wild West Shootout topper.

Cactus Canyon Remake is the fourth Chicago Gaming Company remake in their Bally/Williams pinball revival series. The game preserves the original Cactus Canyon playfield design — a Wild West lawman simulation with bank robberies, bronco taming, and train rescues — and upgrades the display and audio for modern installations.

The remake ships with all-new full-color display artwork at four times the original Williams display resolution. Thousands of frames have been animated for the upgrade. Expanded game rules and new sound effects are exclusive to this remake — they do not appear in surviving original Cactus Canyon cabinets.

014x Resolution Display Upgrade

The display runs at four times the dot density of the original Williams Cactus Canyon dot-matrix display. The original art has been re-illustrated as full-color animation across thousands of new frames.

02Wild West Shootout Topper

An optional topper mounts above the backbox with the first mini-game ever built into a pinball topper. Players use the flipper buttons to aim and fire while a fully articulated Black Bart figure shoots back with both pistol-wielding arms.

03Expanded Game Rules

Rules have been expanded beyond the 1998 original release. New modes, scoring paths, and wizard mode triggers are exclusive to this remake — the original Cactus Canyon code base has been retired in favor of the remake's modern firmware.

04Bally/Williams Cabinet Restoration

Cabinet construction matches the original Bally/Williams body styling. Cabinet width, depth, and playfield geometry preserve the 1998 cabinet's footprint and mechanical layout.

05SE and SE+ Editions

Two editions are produced. SE is the standard remake. SE+ adds upgraded armor, premium cabinet finish, and additional collectible elements.

06Chicago Gaming Modern Electronics

Spike-equivalent modern electronics drive the playfield. The board set is fully serviceable with current generation components — no chasing decade-old replacement boards through eBay.

SE versus SE+ is a cabinet trim decision. The base SE includes the playfield, modern electronics, full-color display, and standard cabinet finish. The SE+ adds upgraded cabinet armor and premium trim — gameplay is identical between editions.

Buyers chasing the original 1998 Cactus Canyon should consider the remake instead. Surviving 1998 cabinets sell at collector prices and require constant board-level service; the remake is the only commercially available source for new cabinets and supports modern electronics.

The Wild West Shootout topper is sold separately on most production runs. Confirm whether the topper is included or optional before ordering — the topper carries a non-trivial price addition.
