Metallica Remastered is the updated version of Stern's original Metallica title. The Remastered cabinet adds a full-color LCD display with new animations and live concert footage, SPIKE 2 electronics, and 22 songs (8 more than the original release). Playfield geometry preserves the original Metallica layout with mechanical and lighting upgrades.

Construction
The Pro is the standard production cabinet. The Premium adds additional mechanical features and upgraded cabinet armor. Both editions share the expanded Remastered rule set, 22-song library, and full-color LCD display.
The original Metallica's dot-matrix display has been replaced with a full-color LCD running new animations and licensed live concert footage. This is the most visible upgrade between the original and the Remastered release.
The Remastered cabinet ships with 22 Metallica songs — 8 more than the original Metallica pinball release. The expanded library supports deeper mode-music pairing across the play loop.
Two new cabinet art packages are by Rhys Cooper — Metallica's longtime band artist. Operators or buyers can specify either art package at order time.
Stern's Expression Lighting system runs across the cabinet — programmable RGB lighting that responds to gameplay state. UV lighting effects are added to the playfield for additional visual response.
Modern Spike 2 electronics replace the original Metallica's board set. Insider Connected is included for global leaderboards, operator analytics, and remote firmware updates.
Buyer's Guide
Pro versus Premium is the main purchase decision. The Pro is Stern's standard production cabinet with the base feature set. The Premium adds the title-specific mechanical features called out in the construction section and upgraded cabinet armor. Rules and core gameplay are identical between editions.
Limited Edition (LE) cabinets are produced in numbered runs and are not always available at retail. For operators or collectors who specifically need an LE, contact Game Room Empire for current allocation — LE pricing is not listed on this page.
Stern Insider Connected is included on all current Stern production. Operators running multiple Stern titles can manage all cabinets through a single operator portal — meaningful for routes and FECs running multi-title programs.
Standard Stern cabinet dimensions apply: 27 in W x 55 in D x 75.5 in H installed and 31 in x 31 in x 56 in shipping crate at 280 lb. Plan delivery accordingly.
