Construction
The cabinet exterior carries a distressed rustic gray finish that replicates reclaimed wood grain texture. The grey palette coordinates with natural wood tones, white walls, and the dark metal accents that are standard in farmhouse-style game rooms and pub spaces.
Door hinges, pulls, and accent hardware are aged iron finish. Aged iron is a patinated, matte black-brown tone — distinct from chrome or brushed nickel, and specifically matched to the rustic gray cabinet palette.
The regulation 18-in board is sisal fiber — the standard for bristle dartboards used in pub and competition settings. Sisal fibers close around the dart shaft on removal, leaving no visible hole. The rotatable number ring allows the board to be turned periodically, distributing wear evenly across the scoring segments and extending board life.
The interior back wall is lined with felt. Felt absorbs the impact of darts that miss the board entirely — preventing wall damage and dart tip damage from contact with the raw MDF cabinet back.
Door magnets are installed at the factory — no on-site magnet fitting required. Magnetic closures keep the doors shut flush during play without latches that require manual operation between rounds.
Two chalkboards are mounted on the interior faces of each door, with integrated dart holders below each board. This positions scoreboards and dart storage exactly where players need them — visible from the throwing line without turning away from the board.
Buyer's Guide
Bristle dartboards use tightly packed sisal fiber bundles as the target surface. When a steel-tip dart penetrates the surface, the fibers compress and then return to position when the dart is removed — the self-healing property that gives sisal boards a much longer service life than paper or cork alternatives. The rotatable number ring extends this further: when the sectors around the 20 and bullseye show wear from concentrated play, rotating the ring moves a fresh fiber section into those positions.
The Drifter (BG1046) and the Drifter Rustic Oak (BG1046-RUO) are the same cabinet construction with different exterior finishes — rustic gray versus rustic oak. Both are 44 lb, 25 in x 25 in, and include the same accessories. The gray finish pairs with cooler-tone game rooms; the oak finish works better with warm wood floors and traditional furnishings. Cabinet size comparison: at 25 in x 25 in, the Drifter is larger than the Winchester (19.75 in x 19.75 in) but smaller than the Farmington (24 in x 23.75 in) and Centerpoint (25.5 in H x 22 in W).
