Overview

RAM Game Room 56" 3 LT Billiard Light with Billiard Balls open metal bar with three frosted glass shades and resin ball detail.

The BB-55 is the open-frame version of the billiard-ball pendant line. Three glass shades hang from a metal bar that incorporates resin billiard balls into its open framework — the balls aren't surface decoration, they're structural to the bar's visual identity. The shades themselves are frosted to cut harsh glare on the playing surface while still delivering plenty of brightness.

54 inches long (the model number references the BB-55 base), 14 inches tall, 28 lbs. Three pendant glass shades on a metal bar with resin billiard balls. Available in bronze (BB-55 BZ), matte black with matching shades (BB-55 MB/MB), and matte black with white alabaster shades (BB-55 MB/WH). 150W max per socket. 3-foot chain suspension per side.

Construction

Open metal frame with three shade-finish options.

01Frosted Glass Shades

Frosted glass shades cut down on the harsh point-source glare of bare bulbs while still passing nearly all the bulb's lumens through. The light reaches the playing surface bright but diffused — easier on the eyes during long sessions.

02Resin Billiard Ball Bar Accents

Resin billiard balls integrated into the metal bar's open framework. The balls aren't applied to the surface — they're part of the bar's structural composition, which prevents them from coming loose over time.

03Three Finish Options

Bronze (BZ) for warm traditional rooms. Matte black on matte black (MB/MB) for uniform modern silhouette. Matte black bar with white alabaster shades (MB/WH) for contrasting modern look with brighter daylight-feel illumination.

04Open Metal Bar Framework

The metal bar uses an open framework rather than a solid silhouette — visually lighter, more sculptural, and allows the ceiling-mounted canopy to read through the bar from above. Better in low-ceiling rooms where solid-bar fixtures feel heavy.

05150W Per Socket Maximum

Three sockets at 150W each provide up to 450W of total illumination capacity. With LED equivalents, the same lumen output runs at a fraction of the wattage.

063-Foot Chain Per Side

Three feet of chain on each side support the BCA-recommended 30 to 36 inch mounting distance above the playing surface in rooms with standard ceilings.

Buyer's Guide

Open-frame vs. solid-bar fixtures.

Most billiard pendants use a solid horizontal bar that connects the shades — visually heavy, with clear definition between fixture and ceiling. Open-frame fixtures like the BB-55 use a metal lattice or skeletal frame instead.

The practical difference: open-frame fixtures feel visually lighter in the room. In basements or rooms with 7- to 8-foot ceilings, a solid-bar fixture can feel like it's pressing down on the table; an open-frame fixture stays out of the visual foreground.

Three finish choices cover most game room palettes. Bronze pairs with traditional wood rooms. MB/MB is the modern default — uniform matte black across the bar and shades. MB/WH adds the white alabaster shade variation, which both contrasts visually and produces brighter daylight-feel light than colored glass shades.

Frosted glass shades are the practical choice when serious play matters. Stained glass shades color the light wash; frosted glass keeps the light neutral and bright. For tournament-style play and serious shot reading, frosted is the right answer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Why frosted glass instead of stained or clear?

Frosted glass diffuses harsh bulb glare while passing nearly all the bulb's lumens through. Clear glass produces a hard point-source glare on the playing surface and rail chrome; stained glass colors and dims the light. Frosted is the middle ground — diffused but bright.

Are the billiard balls real or replica?

Resin replica billiard balls integrated into the metal bar's framework. Resin holds the painted finish indefinitely without chipping or fading.

What's the difference between MB/MB and MB/WH finishes?

MB/MB has matte black shades matching the matte black bar — a uniform silhouette. MB/WH keeps the matte black bar but pairs it with white alabaster glass shades for contrast and brighter overall light output.

What size pool table fits this fixture?

54 inches fits 7-foot bar tables and 8-foot home pool tables. For 9-foot regulation tables, step up to a 78-inch four-light fixture.

Are bulbs included?

No. The fixture accepts Edison-base bulbs up to 150W per socket. LED bulbs at any color temperature are compatible.

How is this different from the BIL-B56?

BIL-B56 uses amber glass shades on a solid bronze bar with billiard-ball accents — a warmer, more traditional look. BB-55 uses frosted/alabaster glass shades on an open metal framework with billiard balls integrated into the frame — a leaner, more modern look. Both share the billiard-ball decorative motif.
