Shipping & Delivery
Overview
The Playoff is Hathaway's 48-in entry-level foosball table, built from CARB-certified MDF in a 48.5 in cabinet that requires approximately 96.5 in of floor length including player clearance — 6 inches less than the 54-in standard. At 49 lb assembled, it is the lightest freestanding foosball table in Hathaway's lineup and the only model that ships entirely by small parcel at 51 lb. Playing surface is 40 in L x 22.75 in W.
Steel rods with integrated bearings, ABS ergonomic players, and analog counter scoring at each end. Leg levelers built in. Includes 2 foosballs. Assembly approximately 45 minutes — the shortest in the lineup. 180-day limited warranty. Rated for ages 4 and up. Single carton: 47 in L x 27 in W x 6 in H, 51 lb.
Construction
Cabinet is CARB Phase 2-certified MDF — the same emissions certification standard used in Hathaway's premium-tier tables. At the 48-in size, this construction provides a stable, low-weight deck that ships as small parcel without freight.
The 48.5 in cabinet with 24 in player clearance at each end requires 96.5 in of floor length — 5.5 in less than a 54-in table at minimum clearance. In a 10-foot room (120 in), this leaves 23.5 in of wall margin at each short end.
The playfield is 40 in x 22.75 in, laminated and smooth for consistent puck movement. Soccer stadium graphics and raised rails on all four sides keep the ball in play without manual ball retrieval.
Steel rods run through built-in bearings with ABS ergonomic handles on each rod. The bearing support prevents lateral rod wobble at high play speeds, and the ABS handles are lower maintenance than wood equivalents in humid game room environments.
Analog counters at each end of the table. No batteries required for any function — an important consideration for game room installations without an outlet nearby.
Leg levelers are built into each leg base. At 49 lb, this table is light enough that on an uneven surface it will rock without leveling — the levelers compensate for the floor grade differences common in basements and garages.
Buyer's Guide
The question to answer before ordering any foosball table is whether the room fits the table plus player clearance, not just the cabinet footprint. Allow 24 in behind each end; this turns a 48.5 in cabinet into a 96.5 in floor requirement and a 54-in cabinet into a 102-in requirement. In a 10-foot room (120 in), the Playoff leaves 23.5 in of wall clearance at each end while a standard 54-in table leaves under 18 in — a meaningful difference when two players are standing at each end.
At 49 lb, this table can be moved by one person and stored seasonally — full-size tables at 100 lb or more are effectively permanent once assembled. The 45-minute assembly time and small-parcel delivery also eliminate the freight scheduling that heavier tables require. The trade-off is playfield width: 22.75 in wide compared to 24.75–26.5 in on larger models, which gives the goalkeeper a slightly easier time covering the full goal opening.
