01Wax and Cornmeal Blend
Sun Glo powder is a proprietary blend of wax and cornmeal. The wax component reduces friction; the cornmeal component provides the micro-ball bearing effect that allows pucks to glide on a cushion of particles rather than directly on the table surface. The blend ratio determines speed — medium speed is the most widely used rating for recreational residential play.
02Medium Speed Rating
Speed ratings for shuffleboard powder range from slow to fast. Medium speed provides enough glide for pucks to reach the far scoring zone from a standard throw position while retaining enough control to stop in the 1–2–3 zones without overshooting. Fast-speed powder (Surface Ice, BG1220) is designed for tables that have been conditioned and for players who prefer a faster game pace.
03Adjustable Sprinkler Top
The container has an adjustable sprinkler top that slides open to distribute powder and slides closed to seal the can between sessions. The sprinkler opening controls powder flow — a fully open sprinkler applies powder quickly to the full table; partially open applies a lighter coverage layer for fine-tuning speed.

At 16 oz, one can covers a 9-ft table for approximately 15–20 game sessions at standard application weight. A 12-ft or 14-ft table uses more powder per session proportionally to its surface area.
05For Wooden Shuffleboard Surfaces
Sun Glo powder is designed for wooden shuffleboard table surfaces — butcher block, birchwood veneer, and lacquered wood surfaces. Do not use on the Crestline's composite outdoor surface, which uses a different surface chemistry.
