Medieval Madness Merlin Edition is Chicago Gaming Company's remake of one of the most celebrated pinball machines ever produced. The original Williams Medieval Madness is widely considered one of the best pinball machines of all time — and the Merlin Edition rebuilds it to current production standards with modern electronics, a fully adjustable color display, LED lighting throughout, and a class D digital audio amplifier.

Gameplay preserves the original — battle for the kingdom across multi-ball modes, the exploding castle, the motorized drawbridge, and the two pop-up trolls. The Merlin Edition adds an HD Color Upgrade, interactive RGB General Illumination, and features exclusive to Medieval Madness Remake that are not available on surviving original cabinets.

The original dot-matrix display has been replaced with a fully adjustable HD color display. Brightness, contrast, and color temperature are operator-tunable for venue ambient lighting.

02Interactive RGB General Illumination

The cabinet uses fully interactive RGB General Illumination — a first for Medieval Madness. The GI shifts in response to gameplay state, mode transitions, and audio cues across the entire playfield.

03Exploding Castle and Motorized Drawbridge

The signature castle feature and motorized drawbridge from the original Williams release are preserved on the remake — the cabinet's mechanical centerpiece remains the most photographed feature in pinball.

04Two Pop-Up Trolls

The two pop-up trolls — one of the most-quoted Medieval Madness gags — are present on the remake. Modern actuators replace the original Williams pneumatics.
