Halo: Fireteam Raven - 4-Player Tethered Arcade Game

This is Raw Thrills' four-player stand-up edition of Halo: Fireteam Raven, item number BETM 028518N, built on the licensed Halo property from Microsoft and 343 Industries. Four players work a single 85-inch display at the same time, each holding a controller modeled on the Halo Assault Rifle with force feedback in the housing, and each rifle tethered to the cabinet rather than stowed inside an enclosed booth. The campaign runs through named settings from the Halo canon, including The Silent Cartographer and Assault on Scarab, with surround sound carrying the fire from all four positions.

Installed, the cabinet measures 118 in / 300 cm high, 104 in / 265 cm wide and 82 in / 209 cm deep, and weighs 1,190 lb / 541 kg. Power draw is 5 A at 120V/60Hz, or 2.5 A at 230V/50Hz. It arrives as two pallets rather than one crate: the main cabinet at 632 lb / 287 kg and the pedestal at 558 lb / 254 kg. Those two figures, not the 1,190 lb assembled total, are what a receiving plan actually has to handle, and the 118-inch installed height is what a room has to clear.

Start with height, because 118 in / 300 cm is 9 feet 10 inches and it is the figure most likely to kill an install. Measure to the lowest object over the exact spot you intend to use, not to the ceiling deck: sprinkler heads, duct runs, track lighting and dropped soffits all sit below the structural ceiling, and any of them at 117 inches ends the conversation. A room with a nominal 10-foot ceiling clears this machine by two inches, and service access to the top of the cabinet wants more than that.

The 104 in / 265 cm assembled width is the wrong number to plan a delivery path with. The main cabinet travels on a pallet 92 in high by 84 in wide by 37 in deep, and the pedestal on a pallet 69 in high by 41 in wide by 82 in deep. The dimensions that have to clear a doorway, a corridor turn or an elevator car are the 37-inch face and the 41-inch face, and the 92-inch pallet height is the one to check against a low roll-up door, a parking-garage entry or an overhead pipe on the approach.

The two pallet weights, 632 lb / 287 kg and 558 lb / 254 kg, add up to the 1,190 lb / 541 kg installed weight, and that split is worth more than it sounds. A single twelve-hundred-pound crate needs handling equipment rated for twelve hundred pounds; two pallets under 640 lb each move separately with ordinary gear. Once the machine is together, that 1,190 lb stands inside a 104-by-82-inch footprint, about 59 square feet of floor, which is the number to raise with anyone putting this on a mezzanine, a raised floor or older wood framing.

Electrically the cabinet asks for very little: 5 A at 120V/60Hz, or 2.5 A at 230V/50Hz. Layout is the harder question. Four positions on one 85-inch screen means this is a single attraction consuming 104 inches of frontage, not four earners you can spread around a room, so it needs a wall or a run where a group of four can stand shoulder to shoulder without blocking a walkway. In exchange, the tethered open-front format keeps the players and the screen in plain sight, where an enclosed environmental cabinet hides both behind a shell.
