A 9-foot regulation pool table is 100 inches long. A 54-inch billiard fixture covers the middle of that span well but leaves the head and foot rails comparatively dim. Players shooting from the rail end up working in their own shadow.

The 79-inch Tahoe is sized to cover the playing surface end-to-end with even illumination from four shades. For 9-foot tables, this size is the right answer; on smaller 7-foot bar tables, a 54- or 60-inch fixture is the better match.
